|Jason is a former photojournalist for Hearst Corporation's 150,000-circulation Connecticut News Group. He has been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Times of London, The Australian, The Boston Globe, Miami Herald, USA Today, ABC News, CBS News, The Philadelphia Inquirer, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and many others. His coverage for Hearst has included the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings for which his newsroom won a Society of Professional Journalists Sigma Delta Chi Award, the U.S. Senate race in Connecticut between a professional wrestling magnate and a U.S. congressman, and Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel's recent wrongful imprisonment trial related to his murder conviction of Martha Moxley. Jason also has worked as a photographer and photo editor for The Citizen, a daily newspaper in upstate New York. |
At The Citizen, Jason managed the photo budget for two publications, including numerous weekly in-depth enterprise packages and assigned a staff of two photographers and a half-dozen freelancers.
Jason studied photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology, one of the country's leading photography schools. He has been a judge for R.I.T.'s annual photojournalism honors show and for Goucher College's annual digital arts contest. He also has taught photojournalism and other photography workshops in Philadelphia.
Jason currently freelances in western New York and is available for work locally, regionally and abroad.
